THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES -- Downloadable information leaflets give an excellent introduction to First World War (and other) records available at The National Archives. The National Archives catalogue can now be searched on-line.

THE LONDON GAZETTE ARCHIVE - All the London Gazette editions from the war years can be searched on-line, giving access to e.g. Victoria Cross, Military Cross, Distinguished Conduct Medal and Meritorious Service Medal citations.

THE REGIMENTAL WARPATH 1914-1918 - Brad Chappell's informative site cross-references battalions, brigades, divisions and the battles in which they were engaged.

THE WESTERN FRONT ASSOCIATION - The WFA aims to perpetuate the memory, courage and comradeship of those, on all sides, who served their country in France and Flanders in 1914-1918.

IMPERIAL WAR MUSEUM - The Imperial War Museum is unique in its coverage of conflicts, especially those involving Britain and the Commonwealth, from the First World War to the present day.

BRITISH WAR GRAVES - Research site by Mick McCann. Comprehensive photographic site for Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire war graves, cemeteries and memorials - with additional graves in Belgium, Holland, France and Malta. THE WAR GRAVES PHOTOGRAPHIC PROJECT - The aim of The War Graves Photographic Project is to photograph every war grave, individual memorial, MoD grave, and family memorial of serving military personnel from WWI to the present day and make these available within a searchable database. 


ROLL OF HONOUR - This site is dedicated to those men and women who fell fighting for their country. Recorded here are various war memorials withing a variety of countries, it's intended to complete as many war memorials in the United Kingdom as possible.
